1966 mustang 289 eng - thrust bearing

This is my first mustang. engine runs good except has a rattle. Mechanics says thrust bearing is going out. Where is the thrust bearing located. and how hard is it to replace. the engine was rebuilt by a local mechanic 20,000 miles ago.

What else should I replace in that vicinity when doing this fix.

and a 84, GT350 with a 350SBC 6spd man. 1/4mile time 10.5seconds

The chevy motor was cheaper to build up and has less problems mechanically.

How do you have an 11 second '85 mustang if this '66 is your first mustang? Dont know what a thrust bearing is yet you have 2 cars around 500rwhp...hmm

goodmana = tool? sure seems like it. first you complain about ford motors, then expect us to help you with them. go away.
