P0135 Error Code

Hi,
I just came across this board, great stuff! I just replaced the exhaust manifold on my 95 2.7 4wd xcab with 120k, I found the old one was cracked. After reading through this board it seems to be a pretty common issue with the 4's. I'm now showing P0135, which is of the "O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)" variety. My question is does anyone know if just replacing the 02 sensor in front of the cat will solve my problem, or is there maybe something else going on since I put a new manifold in? I put on the cheapo from 1 A Auto, it was a hundred bucks or so with gasket/shipping. It bolted right up without any problems. Thanks!

Re: P0135 Error Code

Try checking for exhaust leaks first due to loose bolts or misaligned gasket. This will also cause this code. Never use silicone for gaskets on exhaust. It will eventruly take out the o2 sensor.

THANKS! I just went through and re-torqued everything I did last week. It all looked good, but torqued everything down again and made sure gasket was still set correctly. For the heck of it I also popped the O2 sensor out and sprayed it down with electrical contact cleaner, re-set chk engine light, went for a test drive - so far so good. If it comes back on, I'll see if it's the same code. If so time for a new sensor. Thanks again.
