Im just throwing this out there to see if I get any response. It's a 1989 Pontiac Trans-Am. It has the 350 TPI with about 115K miles. T-tops, straight body, but needs paint. Interior is fair for the age...no tears in seats, few stains in carpet, decent condition though. It was going to be the base for my project, but I can see that Im not going to have the time or money to continue it. So rather than let it sit and rust away, id like to sell it to someone who will use it. The problem is there was a slight knock in the engine. At first me and the mechanic thought it was rod bearings allowing the piston to tap the head, since it was so slight and not continual at first. However, as we started replacing the bearings, we found that they were in pretty good shape. So we are assuming it is cam bearings. Basically, the engine needs a rebuild if thats the case. It could go 10 or 10,000 miles like it is, cam bearings are funny that way. I drove it from Gainesville to Stuart, Florida where I have since parked it. That drive did not make the knock any worse so I'm guessing it should be a pretty straight forward rebuild. Anyway, I haven't seen the car in about 4 months since I parked it, but that is pretty much the whole story. It is a good base for a project or could be repaired fairly cheaply if you have the know how to do it yourself. I paid $1500, so thats what Im looking to get. Pm me or email me at
