Don't know. Since no one else answered, I'd suggest first searching Ryan's FAQ http://isuzufaq.ibctech.ca or searching http://google.ca

There's got to be lot's of info. The differences in models prevents me from answering this accurately. People do have the answers, you'll just have to look.

One thing make sure you clean the intake pipe thorouhly, not just the valve itself. I just cleaned the EGR and sprayed a few shots of intake cleaner down the return port to the injectors. Light came back a few days later. Did it again, cleaned the egr better, and used a can of injector/carb cleaner (Penzoil) down the intake port and a couple of shots down the exhaust return from the exhaust maniford with egr off the motor, so far all is well

This was done with 124k on the motor, so I was long overdue.

You really dont hear of any issues with the 1993-1997 vacuum actuated EGR system. The procedure would be similar to the 1998+ write up.
