rear end noise GONE!!

thanks for the input.... after drain and refill the noise is gone! it looked black water in the differential . i refilled with good quality 80W90 lube and a limited slip additive. the ring and pinnion and spider gears were in good shape.... no pieces chunks or sharp edges or pits we should be good to go.... now all i have is a couple of rattles and some wind noise coming from the driver door you can even seem to feel it when you put your hand between the side of the dash and the door... also both outer front CV boots are busted... i figuer i can replace the axles in stead of just the boots... i think ill leave the inner tulip joint in i hear that they are hard to get out.... anyway thanks again so much this site was invaluable to me please keep up the good work i will be keepin in touch..

Re: rear end noise GONE!!

an easy fix for wind noise to to purchase some foam weather striping from Home Depot (or the likes). Get some thin stuff and try it out. Or buy some new door gaskets.
