Bright Headlights won't work
When I change from dim to bright on my headlights, the lights go out!
This is a 94 Caprice Classic that was a state trooper vehicle. IS this a cop thing or do I have a serious problem?? Thanks, Zandam |

My guess is it might be the headlight dimmer switch. Used to have the problem that sometimes when I changed from low beams to high beams, the lights would cut off like you said. Replaced the dimmer switch and no problems since.

Thanks for the ideas. I have replaced the bulb and no change. It sound like the dimmer switch is the right answer.
I have not changed one on the Caprice, will I run into problems with the air bag. I am assuming the dimmer switch is included with the turn signal, speed control etc. on the steering colum. Thanks, again |

Re: Bright Headlights won't work
There was probably a wig-wag unit installed. Look under the hood for a green wire running to the headlights. One of them is cut....
