trans for a 68 cougar

i have a 68 cougar with a 289 and a 3 speed manual i have to put a new trans in it. I was wondering if anyone could give an opion on a good trans to put in. I was considering a t-5 but im not sure if it will give me any problems going in. I will take any advise i can get. Thank
