Travisty!

I saw somthing yesterday that was the most horrid thing I've ever seen on a car.

Me and my friend were out driving around in his WRX when this old body style 5.0 mustang pulls alongside us. I glance over to see a huge tach sitting on the dash, usuall bad tint job. A mile or so goes by and I glance over agian for some reason when somthing catches my eye. Looking closer I see, below his driver's side view mirror, a GTR symbol! Wtf I'm thinking So I roll down my window and ask the guy at the next stoplight "Did you know you have a GTR badge on your car?"

Him:"Yes"

Me:"Umm... You did know that Nissan makes those right?"

Light turns green, wonderfull smartassed conversation cut short

I donno, it kidna pissed me off though

He's dreaming of what he should have bought or would buy if he could afford it.
Instead he drives round in a pushrod, carby, 2 tonne brick.

I like my push rod, EFI, two ton brick(actually 3196lbs), but unlike him am not goin to put a GTR badge on my Mustang. I'll have one on my R33 GTR

When are you getting yours, CA31_JR?

That really is a Travisty, I will give you that.

I have seen Civics, Sentras, Sunbirds, and Camaros with them as well. At least the sentra is a Nissan

For real, Civics and the like are one thing, but on a Stang... Its two opposite ends of the spectrum! You don't get much different then a Mustang and a GTR. 'Cept mby a lotus 340R and a Viper

Ya, Civics are very close to GTRs in performance.

Drifting a GTR would be cool but too much liek hard work...

I don't think a GTR badge would look very good on the Cefiro though.

You would need a torque splitter to get it to work. I have never seen a GTR do it, has anyone?

GTRs like to drift too It really just takes a big set of balls and some skill as you have to keep the pedel more planted then your brain wants you to. It's the whole thing of watching the tree come up on your driver's side window knowing ATTESSA will figure it all out and get you some traction when you need it.

Hey Gonthrax,

I figure since the front wheels want to go into drive when the rear start to spin, you would have to need the splitter. Like an other car, just need some seat time to figure it out.

Just would like to add, I went through Bowling Green last weekend, very nice place you live in. I even walked into, ahm, ahm, The Corvette Museum.

The 4WD Skylines drift alright (just ask Darkness, who has an R32 GTS4). You just need bigger balls and more speed (or a wet surface) than you do with RWD

GTRs drift! I have seen some awesome drifting R32 on the net! And during JGTC last year, some drifted (a bit) although I think it was unintentional!
It's correct. Drifting in a GTR needs lotsa balls! I am still trying a full blown drift in mine. Right now I could do a bit but gimme another 5 or so track days and I think I would be able to do a decent one! Hopefully! Yeah...keep the right foot planted....thta's the advice!

I don't know a thing about drifting an AWD GTR. I do know about mustangs with GTR symbols on them. There is at least one, maybe two out here with them. First one I saw was at a movie theater. could have sworn it was white. It had a billit grill w/GTR dead center, and again on the fenders. I almost died laughing. Saw a second one (mayeb the same one?) at a body shop, only this was red. Got pics somewhere. Again, much laughing. This was a '99 or 2000, so it was an OHC two ton brick.

Yup, me and my friend died laughing too

And like R33 and Moon said, you can drift a GTR. Apparently they argee with the original assesment that very large balls are needed I guess you just have to get it real sideways and smoke the rear wheels and let the fronts pull you in the right direction...

It was easier with the R32s because you could just pull the fuse on the ATTESSA system and go to RWD. I seem to remember someone telling me they installed a switch to it so if they wanted a little sideways fun, just flip the switch.

*Edit*
SkyUSA: Glad you enjoyed your visit to BG, did you stop by the Vette Plant too? Its rather interesting

Unfortinatly for me there isn't much of a car scene here, aside from a few Mustang/'Marrow/Trans Am guys around here, so my tastes don't go along with theirs much They arn't open minded mustang owners like you, they stay in keeping with the stereotype 'stang owner. "Screw that little rice burner, I don't care if its got them turbo charger thangs, it's only got an inline 6, I gotta V8!"

"But Billy Bob... It has big turbos... And 600 Horses... At all 4 wheels..."

"Its 4 wheel drive? Like them wagons Crocodile Dundee makes adds for?"

"No... Not like them wagons Crocodile Dundee makes adds... Nevermind:finger: "
