Unhappy 2003 Sunfire squeaking

My Sunfire is having squeaking issues. It squeaks when I brake so I assume new break pads (shoes) are in order since it's now 2 years old and has 73,000 km on it. Just wondering if the squeaking when driving and I'm not breaking but turn the wheel is from the rotors needing some grinding? Is it usual to have to replace calipers when you do the pads? Car knowledge is not my strong point...lol. I don't want to get soaked at the garage and pay way more for things that don't need doing.

its most likely your brake pads.there is a squeaker on the pad that rubs the rotor when the pads get worn so you know to change them. could be a wheel bearing, but must likely your pads. no your calipers dont have to be replaced (unless something is wrong with them, sticking or leaking fluid). rotors may need to be replaced just depends. if there are alot of grooves in them then yeah. if you can afford it. they will wear your pads out fast, but if still smooth i wouldnt worry about it. hope i could be of help.
