what psi should i set my fuel pressure at?
what psi should i set my fuel pressure at?
this is the list of things that are done related to the engine 93 Integra Si Vtec its B18C VTEC engine same as USDM GSR ECU is P72 Mugen adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Top strut bar, radiator cap, NGK plug wires, denso iridium plugs, Tenzo R oil cap, AC aluminium cams seal, OBX fuel rail, 225lph fuel pump, Carbon Fiber cold air intake box, 7lb aluminium flywheel, exedy stage2 clutch, Field AF/VTEC controller, Energy Voltage Stableizer, megan racing stainless steel header, obx stainless steel cat, apexi stainless steel center, gt1 stainless steel back box the field a/f vtec controller fuel setting has not be done, all at 0 at the moment, i want to wait to i get it on the rolling road to tune, vtec is set at 5600rpm feels better there but not sure whats better, higher psi or lower, i was told that the stock pressure is 45psi which i think is wrong, because i lost power noticably, so i searched online and found some place says around 52 psi is stock, i set it to around 52 to 55 psi and the car runs like it use to be again, just a little hesitation sometimes any advise appreciated thanks |

Go get the car tuned by a professional on a dyno....just guessing or going by the "butt dyno" out on the road can have disastorous effects.

Re: what psi should i set my fuel pressure at?
get a wide band o2 sensor and tune it yourself. i have my pressure set at 38psi at idle and 44psi at wot. turns out that this is close to the stock setting. i have done...intake, exhaust, pulleys, header, highflow cat, im/tb, ported head, valve job, and block guard. to me the setting of 55psi is too much and it would make sense you would be loosing power. you are flooding your engine. did you also advance the timing too or just raise the fuel pressure. if you do not have the correct tools do not try to do the job. there is a chance you will run too rich and foul valves or run too lean and cause detonation. both these things are bad and causes headaches. wideband o2 or professional tunning.
also with the vtec controller and stock cams, there is a big chance you will loose mid range power. once you get the car dyno tunned you will notice a spike in power. where the dyno will drop power then noticably spike up. this is the lose in mid range power. the dyno should have a steady incline. vtec cars should be tunned where the driver cannot feel or hear vtec.

Re: what psi should i set my fuel pressure at?
I would keep it at stock just like 99integra said because you only have i/h/e and a lot of mods for fuel. Hope you getting some kind of forced induction
for all those fuel upgrades |

Re: Re: what psi should i set my fuel pressure at?
ok I have the adjustable one removed and put back on the stock regulator till next week when I bring it down to get it tune on the rolling road, I put that back on, also removed the field sfc vtec controller and installed an apexi vafc II and apexi rsm instead! the apexi one gives me option for finer tune than the field one!
I be modding the internals before I go force induction, I like to get the best out of it first with N/A tune, then go turbo! but when I go turbo I maybe doing another rebuild again anyway, as the vtec engines are higher compression than the non vtec, therefor I cant boost it as much, doing research on that while I'm n/a tuning it!
