05 Trailblazer Factory Speaker Size

I Have An 05 LT Trailblazer With The Bose Sound System And Would Like To Up Grade But Don't Know What Size Speakers I Have In The Blazer. I Do Believe I Have 6 (3 Pair) Dash And 4 Doors. Thanks For Any Info Brian

I've got an 04 non Bose and I replaced all the door speakers with 6-1/4" Infinities. I had to modify the plastic enclosure slightly because the mounting pattern was slightly different and the new speaker frame interfered with the housing in a couple of places but it was not difficult. I was told that you could fit 6-1/2" but from what I remember it would require more extensive modifications to the housing (fire up your Dremel!). The stock fronts were rated at 8 ohms each and the rear was 4 ohm each. The replacements are 8 ohm all the way around with no issues. I desolderd the connectors on the old speakers and used them on the new. Just check to make sure that you have the phasing (+/-)the same as the stockers.

I can't offer a direct response to your question, but I know at least in 02-03 TB with BOSE, there is an external amp in the trunk in the passenger side panel. Don't know what problems this will present, but I think it will be more difficult to swap out the speakers. Hope this helps a little.

Well sorry, but I wonder why would one change the speakers like bose system. I own 05 EXT LS, I got my stock speakers replaced by Audiobahn ACS2062 ( 6.5" 2 WAY, 200 WATTS MAX, 4OHMS). And also added a set of tweeters. pretty good ones from Pyramid TW27. It has Motorola driver in it & sound sharp n good (and cheap ) .You gotto open the front dash to install these in the right place under the factory grill. they sound gr8.....

other thing you might need to install interface (check Axxess GMOS-03 ) as you have bose system. cheers......
