AC compresser

Hello again, looking for some help. 1987 Sub. The AC Compresser will not engage. I Have checked the fuse under the dash, but I am not getting power to the plug. Wiring all looks good, is there something I am missing? Another fuse or something. Thanks

Re: AC compresser

There is a pressure cycling switch the accumulator (looks like a cylinder near the firewall on passenger side). The switch tells the PCM if there is enough pressure to turn on the compressor. On my 90 K1500, the switch went bad and a new one fixed my problem. You can remove the connector from the switch and jump it with a wire. If the compressor turns on it means the switch is bad or you are low on freon. I used a pocket style gauge that I bought at a parts store. Since my pressure was good, I just replaced the cycling switch and the a/c started working.

The cycling switch can be replaced without loosing freon.
