If it blinks, it means that somebody already punched the code in a couple times, but it wasn't the right one. For security purposes it doesn't let you punch it again. If you take the fuse out (which is located in the driver side fuse box) and put it back in again (It should be the last one on your right), that should reset the memory. If this doesn't work, leave your stereo on for like an hour or so cuz on diesel VWs, holding the scan and mode buttons doesn't do anything. You have to leave your stereo on for i think an hour, and then it will ask you to punch in your code! Give this a try anyway even if your car's not diesel and hopefully it will work!

Re: safe radio

Hey thanks for the advice, my radio is working again now and i have another question. The other day my fans stayed on and ran all day until my battery died. I got jumped off by a friend of mine but i was wondering if you or anyone knew why my fans kept running after i killed the engine.

Re: safe radio

The cooling fan module is common to fail (located under the round coolant expansion tank). Pull off the electrical connectors that attach from the bottom & see if there is corrosion leaking out from inside the module.

Question

I also do not know what my code is. I was not given an owners manual when I purchased it. It is a 97 golf, and I know how to enter the code, but have no idea what mine is. Also once you enter the code, then what do you do? Any help would be wonderful, thanx
