COMPLETED: White Lamborghini Murcielago; plagiarist's delight

Just finished up Fujimi’s Murcielago. I stole ideas from all of the ones built previously.

Built mostly OOB, w/aftermarket Aoshima Bene DTM wheels (the stock Murcielago rims look a bit small, on the model and the 1:1). The rear wheels are deepened/enlarged using a pair of aluminum trim rings that I machined. The stock rear tires were stretched over the trim ring, and I wrapped tape around the rest of the rim so the tire would seat properly. The wheels and hubs were modified so they’d simply glue in place with the car sitting at it’s proper ride height on a stack of cards w/o having to make chassis modifications to widen the front track and lengthen the wheelbase-problems that the Fujimi kit have. Thanks to CADguy for that simple fix. Knowing what fits/doesn’t fit is half the battle, and that was the only area of the kit with problems. I also removed the windshield trim from the body-by filling the top line over the windshield, and shaving the sides by the doors. Thanks to Veyron for that trick .

Exterior is Tamiya pure white (idea from Veyron's white Gallardo), interior is black and french blue (thanks Kunta! ). I started this one this past weekend, gunning for debut in Chattanooga on Saturday. I think it came out decent for a quickie-build, I could have slowed down and done a better job on some of the masking and painted the wheels, but chose to live w/it as-is .

The modern exotics have been well represented in white now. It looks great on the Murcie.

There's nothing like a model car show to get us out from behind GT4 and up to the building bench.
