ZC engine?

anyone know where to locate a ZC engine for my 92 hatchback (legal ofcourse, one that is atleast 92+) with somewhat low miles (~40k) complete swap? im interested in this engine because its got the starting HP that im looking for (~130) and its a DOHC engine. i hear they are really cheap, so im interested in gettin one. i know 75% of you will say "why dont you just save up for a z19zy turbo??" or something, but im not looking for a 400whp car. i want a cost effective ~130. this means, d16y8 also....and the fact its a vtec engine is nice, but its SOHC..which i dont really like (basically cause the engine looks silly) and my desired engine would be the b18b....which is probably the smartest thing to do.
would like some opinions on this (inteligent ones only please, not idiot "DUDE GET NAWZ!@#$!@" and shit)
this is a daily driven car, not intended for being a racecar, etc. etc., i just want to be able to get moving when needed, something reliable, and something cheap. oh, and it needs to be cheap. did i mention cheap...?
i have right now, about 600 bucks @ my disposal..after carpet + seats, that gives me ~400, taxes are getting done this week, should hopefully get about 4-500 for that, and i figure i can manage to save a couple hundered outta my paycheck..
whats the going rate for:
1.) 5th gen ZC swap
2.) D16Y8 swap
3.) D16Z6 swap
4.) B18B1 swap
?
im really leaning towards a b18 or d16 right now, but the ZC still interests me....and is probably the cheapest..

opinions, links, thoughtful advice is welcome!
Thanks.

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

Good luck on the search!

I believe you are incorrect -- the 88-91 "ZC" motor is DOHC, the NEWER what would be a 5th gen "ZC" is a SOHC VTEC motor. And I can get you both

d16z6 swap will cost about $5-600 without install...you can even use your existing transmission and just get the long block, vtec stuff, and a p28 ecu (92-95 EX/Si). You can either piece together a homemade turbo or buy a used greddy kit. I've seen used greddy kits going for like $1200 with everything except the FMIC. You can pick up a polished Starion/Conquest Tsi FMIC for like $300 or less if you look. I personally wouldn't use the blue box that comes with the greddy kit but it's not that big of a deal if your using stock boost, which is 5.5psi. The black box is bad, it disables VTEC, which is bad so make sure you don't use the black box because it sucks.

To get to about 170whp is going to cost a bit more because your going to need to up the boost pressure to about 7-8psi. To do this your going to need an FMU, high pressure intake fuel pump, FPR, higher flowing injectors, missing link, and a AVC-R to tune it all with.

Check out this turbo d16 page, a ton of insightful information about turbocharging a d series motor.

damn, it'd be to my advantage to know shit about turbos right now at any rate, i saw a '00 d16y8 complete swap for 700 obo on the parts trader......dude lives in ohio tho :/ so i'd have to go get it or something....hell i'd be happy with that
as for using my own tranny, i think i'd be better off going with the Si tranny...better gear ratio and shit right? not to mention i dont like the idea of getting an engine with lower miles than the transmission...might as well do it all at the same time.
now, lets say i was to go to a junkyard, and stumble accross a car that comes turboed stock....i could take the turbo out, and fit it to my d16? (i believe thats what you were refering to when you said "Starion/Conquest Tsi FMIC" thats the turbo in a talon tsi?)

i got a better idea for a swap now...

FMIC-Front Mount InterCooler
you'll need that and the piping for the IC
the greddy kit comes with the rest as long as you keep the boost at 5.5psi
you don't even need the IC, but it is beneficial.

here is the Starion IC...fairly large

it has to be, i'll look at it, but off the top of my head, the engine would weigh as much as the rest of the teg, not to mention the rwd/fwd conflict, and the fact that it looks like the stock radiator is still there for the 10 cyl engine
