how many of you n/a are sick of being uinderestimated?

I swear, being non-turbo is hard. you gotta have a strong stomach to drive a n/a 3000GT/ Stealth.

I get challenged all the time and not by worthy cars either. in the past three weeks I've had a guy bet money against me that a stock 2002 Jetta would walk me. A JETTA! its like 115 hp at the crank, 1320 is mid 16!
I had a F150 call me out on the high way. yeah F150......great aerodynamics! awsome top speed!

now to top it all off I got challenged to run my co-workers at the track. my company owns a 85,000 square-foot warehouse. obviously most of the employees are young dudes who like cars. well there is a small club starting to form there and they have singled me out for extermination. I got challenged this morning to run thier cars at the track tomorrow, some are putting down money on it. No its not an honor to be recognized! these kids actually think they can smoke me! Why? because no one respects the n/a.

here is the list of cars they own.
A stock 2003 Jetta. 115hp, mid 16s in the 1320.
a stock 2004 Civic Ex. 120 hp no clue on the 1320 but I imagine 17s
a 1992 4-cyl Mustang. 115hp, probably 18-19 second car
a 1993 Eclipse 1.8. 97 hp, another 18-19 sec. car.

the thing that gets to me is that two of my co-workers who park next to me drive an Audi 1.8t and a Scion tC. they didnt challenge them cause they think those cars are faster then me!
I've smoked both of those pansies!

these kids arent stupid ricers though, they know how a car works, they do know more then the avarge noob but even so they still underestimate me so much.

I guess I'll just have to take their money!

They are probably betting on car weight and guessing yours weighs 2x what thiers does...of course we know this is not the case...So take their money and silence the stupidity.

All I hear people talk about when a 3kgt is mentioned is weight. Some people just shoot their mouths off about "how heavy" the 3000gt is and that its a "tank" that can't go anywhere fast. These are probably people who have seen automatic SOHC's race because what they don't know is its ok to weigh a little bit more if you have the hp and torque to back it up.

I'm not tired of being underestimated because no one underestimates me... everyone, including myself, knows I'm slow lol .

Actually, lots of random people always want to mess with me, but mostly because my car just looks fast (I doubt many of them actually know what a Stealth is). If I think I can win or even that it will be close, I might bite. If I don't think I have a chance, then I just smile, might just rev for shits and then I go about my way. What other people think about my car really doesn't matter to me. If they like it or whatever then cool, if they want to bag on it then they can suck it.
Who cares if they want to race you and think they're faster? Race them, let them put down whatever money they want and then smoke em, take their money and tell them to shut the hell up.

Im not really sick of it, but I do get it all the time...like this kid that has like a 87 MR2 n/a thought that he could keep up with me...this guy with a 93 Bonneville n/a thought he would have a chance...I just give them a very confused look and say what are you crazy? Even some of the techs at my job are doubting that its a low 15/high 14 sec car stock, they're like low 16....I think its just the SOHC that gave the N/A's a bad name, stupid SOHC's who would put 160 HP in this body...stupid SOHC's! lol

Hey man, i completely feel you on how people dont understand the power of a NA turbo stealth/3000 GT. My one friend up at school has a 88 mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 turbo charged .. i think its a 3.0 but anyway he is pushing about 170-180 HP stock , and he has it completely stock and he is saying that he would leave me in the dust. They dont understand until they actually watch one go or drive one, which really gives them no authority to diss our cars. For my stealth rt, or anyone who has a strealth rt, or 3000 gt NA (not too sure of the 3000 GT models) are most likely to take 80% of the cars around where you live, depending on the place you live in like a big city or whatever. I just hope that I can get my stealth fixed, ugh its so depressing.

Also, forgot to mention this. My friend has a Hyunda Tibby. Now listen to this, they come stock 131 HP, about 100 Torque, and he has a muffler on it and a cold air intake and a torque converter which really wont do all that much. He is going around saying that his tibby is pushing abour 240 horse power and would blow me away. I told him straight up, i was like look " Well, since you think your so tuff with your tibby when you dont even have you liscence, I will race you straight up for pinks when you get your liscence." You know what he says "Well.. my one gear is messed up.. how about 0-60." my reply " thats what I thought " See you just gotta throw it in your face, people dont step up if you throw the 'pink' slip in there face. im so tired of him talking so much about his tibby and he says that my stealth is so heavy. His tibby is about 2900 LBS. With body kit n system in there he has more or the same weight as my stealth, which is like 3010? i know its really close to 3000. I cant wait to race him

But yeah you got to throw it in there faces sometimes. I had some rice boy throwing retarded numbers my way aboiut what his D16 Civic would do to me. I told him straight up he stood no chance and that we should race right then and there. Of course he had an excuse as to why he couldnt race.

the turbo dsms (1g and 2g eclipses) run with a 2.0 turbo motor w/ 200-210 hp on stock boost and higher with just a mbc. Did they make them in 88?
But he may be able to take you as he says.... maybe.

The 4 cylinder tiburon is a joke and I know if I ever mentioned racing for 'pinks' to any of my friends they would just walk away saying "alright paul walker, you go ahead and do that". But hey if it works for you then thats awesome, go blow the doors off of the kid when he can drive.

the Eclipse wassnt around in 88 yet, what he might have is a Laser turbo or a Starion. those where the predeccesors to the Eclipse. The Starion is a 2.6 Turbo and stock makes 175-180 hp so that sounds it.

I'll race them and tape it for you guys.

I've never been challanged to a race in my area... or if I have been I wasn't paying attention...

NA 3000gts seem pretty quick. I mean I haven't driven anything over 300hp so I can't really say if it quick or not... it's quick compared to other cars I've driven... I dunno.

One of my friends bosses owns a v6 Tiburon, he thinks my car sucks. But won't race me... it hurts to see someone who's so jealous.
