Need suggestions

Ok i was already on here asking for help on choosing a nice hard hitting system and ive pretty much decided on the REXXX-18" with either a 1500.1 ppi or a 2000.1 hifonics amp in a monster enclosure between 5-7cuft. But i need some suggestions on some low cost great sounding subs for some driving bass(dont want to drive around pounding my brains to shit all the time). I know its almost forbidden to use 2 different sizes for subs but i was looking at either a single 10 or dual 8 setup down firing in a custom center console. I would use the smaller sub for when im just cruising my girl hates it when i drive with the bass up so i figure i could use a small sub for some good sq and when the punk with 4 audibahns pulls up next to me i can kick off the small sub and kick on the monster. By the way how are the soundstream tarantula 15"s my little bro wants a system from hell and that was the first thing i found for a decent price on ebay(he wanted some volfenhags). Any suggestions would be great.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Need suggestions

why can't you just turn down the XXX? Just because you have something capable of crazy output that doesn't mean you always have to use it.

Re: Need suggestions

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo volfenhags!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and im a big fan of ppi. i dont know much about hifonics but i guarantee you will not be disappointed with the precision power. i have a PCX 2400. (love it) how many watts will the 18 take cuz the pcx 2400 from ppi puts out 1600 rms bridged at 4 ohm.

Re: Need suggestions

True and im almost 100% sure that both amps have the remote bass link. But i wasnt going to use that and just leave it alone once i tuned it i will most likely use the remote link and turn it down but i hated messing with it on my old system CA 1200 with 2-12 kappa perfects wasnt the best but it sounded real nice.

Re: Need suggestions

that xxx will handle up to 2500 CLEAN power for daily. Do a bigger box for 1600 watts..... more like 10 cubes to 30-35hz.

Re: Need suggestions

Yeah i expect it to stomp on pretty much 90 percent of the systems around here. I need suggestions on a 2000+ watt amp for a good price and i need some suggestions on box size a tuning i wasnt going to make it much bigger than 7 cuft its like a 18"x42"x28" so i have some space but i need some room for the amps and shit. I was also looking for a decent 8 or 10 inch sub that would put out some nice bass for when im just driving around.

Dude, it's called a sub-out (aka subwoofer pre-out on your HU). All you do is turn the sub-out, the subwoofer level on the HU down. There ya go...A LOT less bass.

NG

PS: And the sub-out IS NOT the "bass" on the HU...

Re: Need suggestions

I forgot completely about that ive been using a shitty alpine unit when i wrecked my other car my good cd player got fucked up and i completely forgot about that. Yeah i know its not the bass on the hu. Ok now that ng reminded me of that feature i need some suggestions on good amp brands with good prices that have an output of 2000+ watts.

You only need 1500 REAL rms...

Look into:
MTX 1501d (modded)
Soundstream VGA 1600.2
Hifonics bx2200d
ummm...other shit that does 1600rms...
