usdm glasstop

does anybody in here have a usdm crx w/ a glasstop?? i found a junkyard w/ a bunch of jdm crx's all w/ the glasstops i was gonna see if i could score one and replace the shitty moonroof w/ it...... that prolly won't happen because i'm sure its an arm and a leg.

I had a look at a JDM one last week at a wreckers and it turns out that the body is similar yet specifically designed to take the glass roof and as such a swap is a nightmare. Structural rigidity is different etc. I have a feeling you'd have to cut the turret off both and then hope that they match up. Then reinforce the floorpan etc to make up for the loss in rigidity.

They do look sweet though - I saw one that had been imported from South Africa - it also had the back seat but only had the twin-carb engine. The one I saw at the wreckers was a Si with ZC.

yah i didn't think about all of that, i looked at it from the hillbilly perspective "ok deke, i just take this here saw and cut all of this out and glue this clear thin in, dang that sure do look cool"

And what junkyard is that? Is it in America or what?

it's www.venus-auto.com.... they are in cali but they import tons of jdm shit.
