Any drifters in SD??
Whats up!! anyone here that drifts their stangs? or any other car? Im running a 98 GT 4.6 almost stock.. I only have a Mac cold air induction and a short throw..No mufflers..Kyb rear shocks with eibach progressive springs..It handles ok...alot of body role still, and major tire flex..Im running the stock 17's on falcons 245/45/17 Z rated..they kinda suck!! fronts push out on sweeping 90 degree turns, but correctable with a shift lock or heal toe down shift to 2nd and little power over..
Me and a couple off my friends go out friday saturday nights, not to the drags, but to the buissness parks around the meramesa, PQ, poway area..Somtimes we go up tp palamar parkinglot and lay out a track.. Our group consists of a 86 celica gts soon to be running a 3sgte..We also have a 96 240sx, a 97 240 sx, a spooned out inegra, spec v, sw21(92 Mr2), and soon the new Nissan Z...if there is any drifters out there and whant to know more, hit up these sites, or write back here...cool Later WWW.alltrac.net under club chat off subject any drifters in sd www.freshalloy.com under 240(s13,s14,s14) any drifters in sd first page near the bottom |

I doubt you'll find very many people who drift their 'Stangs anywhere. Although they have the power and a factory LSD, they dont have the greatest weight distribution, plus the rear end tends to shift from side-to-side due to the stock bushings/control arms. Some stiff suspension and a panhard rod would probably help alot though.
I thought about doing it before I even got my '89 and even tried it a little when I did, but the back end is really wiggly and wants to swing around.

Hey Speed,
Nice to have you around. How long have you had your Stang. What mods? Do you know anything about the Watts rear system?

Thanks, good to be here. I've had my 'Stang since September '01. My mods are only 1 5/8" shorty headers, Flowmaster cat-back(possibly sidepipes in the near future), and a B&M short shifter. I have many more MAJOR plans, but we'll see how many I can afford. I havent even heard of the Watts thing.
