Lowering my civ
Ok so i have eibach pro kit springs and koni red struts. I put them on a few weeks ago and i didn't notice any difference in height. I can notice the handling difference, but ride height is almost the same. Does it drop anymore or what? If so, how long does it take to get to the ride height. It's suppose to drop 1.5 in the front but not difference that i noticed so far. Any advice?

Re: Lowering my civ
They should drop the car right away when installed. Possibly not installed right, not seated or in the wrong places.
Skinny/long back bigger/shorter front After 500 miles the suspension will be fully setteld, you can expect a small amount in height change. |

Re: Lowering my civ
I put them on with my friend and he def believes we did it right. I don't understand why it doesn't drop then. I have 17 inch wheels but i don't think that has anything to do with it dropping. Maybe the struts? Can i use stock struts? I heard it's bad to use stock with aftermarket springs. The springs are brand new so i don't see what the problem is. Appreciate any help.

Re: Re: Lowering my civ
Stock struts can be used but wont last long. Stock struts & aftermarket have the spring perch in the same posistion, so that wont affect the height.
I would check that the front springs are in the front & the rears in the rear. Also make sure the springs aren't upside down. |

Re: Lowering my civ
Ok i'll try to reverse the springs to see if that makes a difference. Also my right strut has been making noises like it's bottoming out or something. Everytime i hit a pothole or a bump in the road my right strut makes a noise. I checked all bolts and things like that, they are tight. Is the strut busted? How can you tell if the strut blew? I am also having a problem with my rear. How do you take them off? I unbolted the strut from the trunk and the bolt that is at the bottom of the strut, but how do you take it out? There is a control arm that the strut is next to. Do i have to take that off to be able to take the rear strut off? Thanks for the help. Im deciding whether to just sell my suspension and get a new one if i can't fix this. thanks again
