S2000 swap

I was just wondering if it would be possible and how hard it would be to swap an S2000 engine into a CRX?

LOL. Ummm... you do realise that the CRX is east-west configuration and the S2000 is north south? Plus it's my understanding that the S2000 engine rotates in the opposite direction (someone want to confirm)? S2000 gearbox will be useless as it's only set up for RWD and the FWD boxes won't mate up.

Sure you could sink a lot of money into making the CRX RWD but I'm guessing it would be far more money than the end product would be worth.

I have seen a S2000 engine in a Toyota Sprinter/AE86 drift car - but that was RWD to start off with.

Basically the answer is "not a hope in hell"

CRXkid - I want you to really think about why this may be an issue.

Sheesh, even without all the other problems such as no fucking gearbox will work with it in FWD config, the engine rotating the wrong way is an e-fucking-normous issue

Answer is NO, no-one has ever attempted it

after spending the money on the engine, tranny, and converting your car to rwd, reinforcing the frame and suspension...plus whatever it takes to fit the eingine into the front of the crx (have you seen the front of the s2000? you could live in there...) you could have just bought an s2000.

if anyone has tried it..they werent successful...and if they were. they had way too much money to throw around.

if you want to spend that kind of money just buy the b18c5 and give it some turbo...then go race s2000s...

dudes, it isnt like was considering doing the swap. the engine alone would cost way more than my car. I was just curious as to how hard it was(which obviously it is) and if anyone had ever tried it, which no one has cuz i guess its impossible. plus, if i had the money, i would put a H22 in there, turbo it. buy another car, and use my CRX as a strictly drag car. I just wondered what the deal was with th S2000 engine. k?

yo did you ever see the apex'i drag integra? they transversed that engine just for the exhaust to flow straight back, yes i know it's still a fwd configuration, but i'm just saying that was insane in itself, they actually had the starter rigged to spin the opposite direction.... that was insane in iself, but a s2000 motor in a crx is not even worth thinking about.

Got any links to it? Over here a lot of people are calling bullshit it's a photochop on it but I do remember reading something about it when it was being built.
