Feel really stupid...(e-brake handle install)
I just bought a chrome plated/blue trim e brake cover. Try as I might, I couldn't unscrew that damned stock one... even with pliers. The directions say (may require cutting). Can I cut it right down the middle with a box cutter or is there another way to take it off.
I own a '99 civic dx, btw. |

I did this on my bros 97. I completely removed e-brake unit, cut off the plastic part with dremel, then had to grind down the lip on the underside so the new handle would fit. hope that helps

Or I found one on ebay that is carbon fiber and chrome that just sticks to the top of the existing handle

New to this forum.
I put an aftermaket e-brake handle on my 99 civic. The stock handle pulls right off just twist back and forth. Since I am a Machinist I was able to "Broach" create a groove in the handle. |
