Question 94 4cyl. auto no up shift

Hi, my son wants to buy a 94 4cyl auto. it wont shift from low or 2nd to high gear. any ideas? Thanks

Someone might know the answer, but I believe that the transmission is electronic. It's probably just replacing a sensor.

If it is just a sensor then talk them right down in price using the transmission as the main bartering chip, and then just replace the sensor with a autowreck unit. It can't cost that much.

If it looks like the trany they're pricy to rebuild. My mechanic friend is replacing one right now and I think that he said it was $1600.00 or so Canadian just to re-build. And that was his price
