body work question...

hey guys i just bought my first z, its a 93 300zx tt and its awesome, sept for the fact that the driverside 1/4 panel is dented because the last owner threw the back end into a gaurd rail. now ive been slowly hammering out the panel and im making good progress, but there is still about a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the 1/4 panel and the rear hatch seal and i need to either bend it back up or fill it w/ fiberglass.....im not sure what to do here so any imput is welcome.

Re: body work question...

1/2 inch is much too big to fill, so youll need to bend it, then use body filler to get it perfect. also with the body filler youll have to SAND THE CRAP OUT OF IT, all the way up to 2000 grit wet, because anything less will show in the paint and look like crap

its also gonna be hard as hell to get perfect right there with bondo. with the curve and such, it makes it alot harder to get even.

anyways good luck...show a picture of the dent and someone car probably tell you when its ok to use bondo...
