My mom saw my money order for my exhaust. She was liek what cost that much money I said an exhaust for my car. She was like what?!?! then she said you have to quit hiding stuff from me. So i told her i was going to swap my car to a 5-Spd this summer. She said "You have to drive through one of the most congested streets to work. I dont want you getting it for another year!!! that means not this summer but NEXT summer! Please I need help on how I could get this done this summer and with my moms acknowledgement. This is being a royal PAIN! She will prob freak out over Rims and tires too! man i am hating life.

Even though he should be happy he at least has the car, all that doesn't give her the right to make stupid, unreasonable decisions regarding HIS car.

just talk to her reason w/ her tell her that u feel very strongly about having a manual. a couple of questions though did u buy the car? do u pay insurance? how dependant are u on her? if u are pretty self reliant you will have a better chance of winning. and if she says no after u plead w/ her then just go take a 7 day drinking binge and forget about it

lol, same problem here, but i just did everything to my car without my parents knowing, but i wasnt hiding anything. Just tell them all the plans you have for your car, mine didnt believe me, they told me, "If you can get it on your own, go ahead, because we aint payin for it" So i fake wined and then i just started buying stuff for my car. And said that it was a lot of money. HAHAHA and then all of a sudden i come with rims, muffler, air filter and lsd, all exited and i tell em "Check out what i got!!!!!!!" They dont like it and they think im crazy. But at least my dads into it. I told him about the lsd, how it helps me in the rain and blah blah blah, and he backed me up on that one. when they saw it, it wasnt that much of a drastic change, til i crashed, lol. But explain to her how it can help you. And if your going to buy it there shouldnt be a problem. If i were you i would change the tranny without her knowing it, i dont think shell notice til she gets inside the car and you start shifting.

oh and how much did you pay for your exhaust? My parents accepted everything i got, because i got it cheap. My mom likes to get everything on sale or free, so she was actually proud of me when i told her that i saed money. My rims were free, and exhaust $20. So she didnt mind. When i installed my exhaust, i had the silencer on before i got home, that way my folks didnt know. When my mom saw the exhaust, she freaked out, and then i told her, it increses mpg and it doesnt make sound. So she was allright with it. After a while, when they were used to it, i took the silencer off, and know they dont care. For them it helps out cause they know when i get home . So if you install the exhaust keep the silencer on when your around your folks. If your going to lose their trust, lose it little by little, not all at once. After a while you just might do everything you want to, maybe.

OH and i know how you feel monooxide, LIFE DOES SUCK!!!!!!!!! We just have to rough it out. Start worrying about other little problems, that way the big ones dont seem as bad, or vice versa or whatever. OH AND ONE LAST THING, have your moms name in the registration only. Unless you think shes gonna sell it. Because if you get caught for racing, theyll impound your car, as you all know, but since its your "moms car" and not "yours" you could take it out the next day and pay less by saying that she didnt give you permission to drive that day. Since im part owner of my car, i have permission anytime i want to, so i hhave to wait the 30 days. Anywho, just a heads up for the problems down the road, if your dumb enough to do it.
