96' T & C will not idle.

It is a 96. Town & Country 3.8 So the battery goes dead and I have to replace it. After I do this it will not idle. But before I replaced the bat. it was running fine. Now it will only idle if I give it alittle gas. Also the milage seems to have dropped before this.

Last week I had new plugs, a new pcv valve, oil change and a new valve cover gaskit put in, any connection?

Well I thought that I would post an undate to this no idle problem that I have been having. Today I had to use the T & C or rent sometime else and guess what I wasn't going to rent something else. I had to drive it for 45 minutes in both directions to the job and home again. All the way there I kept the rpms up to about 1000 at least at stop signs and lights. Many times dropping too low, dying and restarting. Halfway home the check engine light comes on, what next? Well I finally limp into the driveway and it is idling on it's own. But I feel that I should take it into the shop anyway as i only had to work a half day today and it's only 12:30. So I take it in and tell my sad tail and leave. Three hours later I go back to see if he has run the engine codes. He says the codes tell him that there was an occurrance like a back fire or starved for gas or something like that but nothing more and it is running fine, no charge. Well he also said that the computer was resetting itself from the battery change and it took it the 1 1/2 hours of driving to do it. So I drive it back home and it is now running just fine again.

This whole thing cost me $38.15 with tax for the battery exchange at Sears, damm I love Diehards. $90.00 100 month battery 66% exchange but save that receit or they may not do it.
