I need some help from a LT1 owner.

Ok I put in a new engine a while ago and I keep getting a random code (code 18) for the injector driver circuit not registering the correct voltage for 4 sec's. So I took apart the harness, I put in new injectors. I swapped alternator. Anyway can't for the life of me after taking apart the harness and changing the cables find out were the short is. So I have come to the conclusion that I missed a ground somewhere. Can someone who has a LT1 look on the driver side firewall of the engine bay near your steering linkage and tell me if there is a ground wire bolted to the nut that the harness strap is bolted to. Thats the only part of the harness I didn't take apart looking for a hidden wire and the reason I want to know before taking it apart is cause its wrapped together with like a tar like substance and if I go threw the trouble of taking that apart and there is no wire in there, I will be forced to start a killing rampage . Anyway thanks for someone's help.

John

John, I know us turbo buick guys when we get grounding issures like that and can't find a missing ground, we just redo the ones we have. Heavier bigger gauge wiring. GM is not known for their reliable grounding systems.

If you go on a killing spree, start in California

noone impatuliar.... It's just that by the time you get to cali, you might be calmed down. However, if you do get there and start you killing rampage, you will be further away from Illinois so you will be done by the time you reach my town.

Re: I need some help from a LT1 owner.

If I could live in Cali again, I would be so happy there would be no reason to kill again but I am stuck in New Jersey although the weather is starting to get nicer and the summer's are OK over here, so I may put off the rampage til winter. Who knows . All depends upon when I snap
