2000 Jetta in dash CD player installation
I am interested in installing an in dash CD player in a 2000 Jetta. The units available on eBay usually have only a small wiring adapter. What other parts will I need (brackets, wires, etc)? Actual VW part numbers would be a great help. Thanks

Re: 2000 Jetta in dash CD player installation
Spend the $30 and buy it through crutchfield, AutoZone, or your local custom stereo shop will usually carry the goods. If you buy a single din stereo (the stock size for a 2000 Jetta) you'll only need the harness and an antenna adapter. It fits snugly into the spot the old stereo used to hold, and it comes with a metal sleve to properly attach it. Not hard, just pay close attention to detail with wires and with tape.

I'm sorry, I don't want to replace the existing head unit. I want to add the "dealer installed" single disk cd player.
