Question broken temp needle

I accidently broke my temp gauge needle in my 98 civic. So I was planning on getting a new gauge cluster but the only problem is that the odometer reading would be wrong. I read that it is possible to advance the odometer with an eyeglass screwdriver but it doesn't say how and if you can do it with a 98 cluster. Anyone know how? If not, is it possible to swap the speedometer from my old one to the new one? Thanks in advance.
