Cool Prelude With A Whiter Shade Of Red

Ok everyone, back again. Here's one from a Wednesday Night. Enjoy!

So i was out getting groceries of all things in the Bonneville (what else?) when i hear a horn behind me in the parking lot. This little fifteen year old kid in an 86 sparkling white prelude is behind me flashing his high beams and hitting his horn. i wondered what the hell he wanted, as i didn't feel like speeding away in a parking lot.

So i drove out of the lot and this little dip stays behind me, pulling the same crap, until i stop at the next light and put on my left turn signal. He comes whipping around me into the right lane (i'm in the left obviously) and puts down his window and starts revin his engine up. I killed my stereo and put down my window and this is how the conversation went:

ME "What's the problem?"

KID "You drive a f*n old man's car, and too slow at that! When someone
honks at you, you get out of their way, they're obviously faster
then you and want to get by. "

ME "Mommy's still teaching you how to drive? How sweet. Give her a
kiss for ok? We'll see who's obviously faster."

And with that, i put up my window and reved him back, just once. The light turned green and i floored it, and the kid actually got a decent start. He's lighter then i am so he had a jump, but i had the inside lane so it was even until we straightened out. Then as soon as he put it in third, my second gear kicked in (this is at about 80km/h) and i shot ahead 2 car lengths, signaled infront of him, and took his lane.

He pulled up next to me again at the next light after he moved over to the left lane to try and beat me top end (which he lost miserably). I looked over at him, and he was beat red.

Hence forth my title, whiter shade of red.

Dicks like that punk are what give us other younger guys in fast cars a bad name. They drive something that's stock and think it's hot shit and it's not. And the kid's 15. I'm only 19, i'm still a kid myself compared to most, but i at least hvae respect unlike this little idiot.

It's people like him that give people like me a bad name and make me not want to race anymore. Any thoughts on that?

heaps of people get an attitude once they get into a car, even older poeple, if you race someone doesnt mean you got an attitude, and who cares if some pedestrian thinks your an idiot, there the idiots who have no appreciation for cars.

most the people i see give it around corners in my area are cops and people in there mid-late 20s, in stockers.

i was at a light the other day and a white s14 silvia stopped beside me, the driver was a buisnessman in his 30s still in his work suit(this was like at 9pm), me and my friend was eyeballing the car as we normally do when we see a nice car, it had aero mirrors, everything else was stock. the guy accelerated away, letting off the BOV half way around a corner wich made the worn out suspension bounce back and forth(he couldnt drive), then he brang the back out abit on the next bend.

I know what you mean. I have people try to race me all the time in these crap cars that are stock that don't have a hope or a prayer at beating me, and the owner thinks their car is hot stuff. I mean I once had an 84 Dodge Daytona. I paid sports car insurance for it but I knew damn well it wasn't a sports car. For it's time I am sure it was fast and it still got and up went faster than Civics with Vtec. But it was by no means fast and I knew it. I hardly ever raced at all in it. On the other soectrum I was driving down the free way and right next to me is a brand new Porche 911 Turbo, and the guy revs his engine at me. Why, I have no idea, maybe cause my car says turbo on the side? I just laughed at the guy and said don't waste your gas.

Yea I know how that feels cus I get it all the time here in NY. All these ricers(Tegs and Civics) see my car and since I am like one of few muscle cars around here, they automatically think i got a big block that makes more noise pollution then a jet plane and they think since they got a spoiler and a nice shade of blue on there car that they can beat me...And they can cus I havent done shit to my car and my miles MPG is in the most a teen number, so let them burn there gas as I save a couple bucks and get to my destination safely...But thats just me

What color was the 911? one guy that lives near me has a red one and another guy just moved to saratoga springs i think, anyways its that place by lehi, he drives a slate gray one.
