need your input on tires and new muffler?
wuddup yall..
my car makes a crazy a$$ rumble kinda like them beefed up cars wit the huge cat back exhausts....cept uhm mine is "homemade" aka theres a hole in it..its on the pipe end that connects to the rest of the exhause system that leads to the engine..hm the best way to say it is the its the EXACT opposite end of the muffler tip that points out from the back of the car, aka where the smoke comes out of.. other then that the muffler itself is fine..but am i correct in assumin that piece of pipe is connected to the muffler so i have to replace the whole thing? the car is honda civic 2000 ex sdn, i purchased it new, so the muffler probably needs replacement huh? I have no idea where to start, what to get? i'm really jus lookin for a general muffler, that makes my car run good and smooth, not lookin for any power boosts or anything of that nature..i'm jus sick of the rumble i want my car back wit the quietness yo.... any tips, info or ideas? also my stock tires are dead a$$ bald...i need some good all around year tires for my stock rims.. any ideas on that? any info on the lowest price tire i can get? oh yeah i live in wisconsin wit old man winter..so uhm i probably need tires to deal wit that... can yall help me n point me in the right direction... thanks all let me know oNe

Re: need your input on tires and new muffler?
last year my muffler had the exact same hole, the weld was broken where the piping first meets the muffler. if you want it quiet, go to autozone or where ever and get a new stock muffler. theyre like 60 bucks or so and come with all the bolts you need to put it on.

Yo, Sean Price my advise is the nokian WR A.W.P. 2. These are all-season tires with a little more emphasis on winter driving, which is good because IMO that’s when you need it the most. The bad thing is that they got a terrible distributorship which means it’s probably going to be a PITA finding a place near you that sells them.
97CivicX: do you think the AutoZone mufflers are just as good as the Honda ones? I got the same problem on mine. Most guys here would just use it as an excuse to get an aftermarket muffler, me I want to keep stock quiet. |

The nokians are over here: http://www.nokiantires.com/newsite/t...fm?cid=1&sid=3
like I said their distribution sucks & they’re expensive. But I think they’re the best “all-seasons” out there. Out of the 3 you mentioned above the Blizzaks are the best, but they're not going to last too long at all if you’re using them year round. |
