1g Production number help

My car took a dump on me again, right after I got the new timing belt on...dammit. The timing belt hydraulic adjuster blew up(well the fluid shot out a hole in the bottom), and I need to order one but the dealer wants to know the production number. My Q is, wheres it located, and which number on the plate?

Also, what could cause it to blow up? Maybe i had the little pulley that it holds tight, too tight, and it wasnt letting the plunger out far enough, thus causing too much pressure? Also the little pulley that the plunger tightens was making a god aweful noise like the bearings were shot, but when i took it offit seemed fine.
Hope this isnt too confusing...
