fan shroud

ok i have that caprice motor in my car, and im using a clutch fan, on like 75 degree days now thats its 75 here in ct. i hit 215 going to work and 220 while i was biting my nails in mild traffic. with the heat on full blast. should i switch to a flex fan, and will i lose hp with that. will that solve cooling issues. also i do not have a lower fan shroud, and am having trouble locating one. is there a common vehicle i can grab one outa in a junkyard. cuz i dont feel like spending a ton of money and a few hours making one outa fiberglass. its no big deal just wont look right. any ideas i wanna run at about 190

that's pretty much the best option... or while ur in traffic put ur engine up to like 2000 or 2500 rpm, its not good for gas mileage, but it will help the fan cool the engine. that is until u get an electric setup...

an electric fan will drive down the temps because when the rpms slow down, the fan doesn't... which is pretty much where a water pump driven fan falls short...

running no thermostat will make ur car take longer to warm up... because it will be circulating the water right away instead of holding it in the water jacket until u are at opperating temp...

an engine not being at opperating temp is not good for it... the oil has a higher level of viscousity at lower temps and can possibly increase wear and tear on the engine... i would just go w/ a lower temp thermostat, not having one isnt extremely harmful but could cause problems over time... not to mention having to wait for the car to warm up b4 u can drive it...
