Smile Evo VII GT-A good or bad...??

Just drove past an importer today. I always check out the local importers on the latest models. Stumbled upon a 7 GT-A. Just like the GSR, but Auto!! Who in the right mind would want to ride a high performance car in auto mode??

craaaa-aaaa-zzzzy, i say!!

anyways, just a lil note as I have been silent for a long long while...

btw, EPISODE II premiers May 16!!

Test drove a GT-A the other day and the car is dam slow in first gear. Slammed the pedal and the car did not kick until around 2,500 RPM. You can shift gears with the steering wheel button located on both sides or the gear shifter by pushing it up or down. When you shift it to drive you have to push it to the left so you can shift it from there. This is a RHD version. Was thinking about getting the car but the dealer jacked up the price and was asking at such a high cost. First of all the car is in Kuala Lumpur, and since the car is so new I was only allow to drive it in the small streets. Did not have the chance to drive it on the highway or biggger roads. I have driven a GSR Evo 7 before and the GT-A is nothing close to it when it comes to acceleration. Even a Honda auto feels like it has more kick in first gear at low rpm. The reason I test drove the GT-A is because my lady wants to drive it in auto mode instead of a manual. But after test driving the GT-A, I dont think it is worth it. The interior is quite nice with silver trims on the gauges and the center console is metallic blue which kinda of matches the seats. But the seats are not as supportive as the GS-R. The asking price of the GT-A is 84,000 US dollars and the GSR is 61,000. Hell no im paying 84K for a GT-A
The reason the GT-A is at such high price compared to the GSR Evo 7 is because its the dealer I went to are the first and only ones who are importing the GT-A right now. They are hoping some idiots will pay a premium for them. In a few months later it will drop down back to 10-15k.

Cool EVO VII GT- A

Hi

I have just bought a GT-A as a Japanese Import into the UK. As most of my driving is in town I find the Tiptronic much more user friendly and my wife & kids prefer the ride to a standard EVO VII. (I also have a SMART car with Tiptronic)

As I may take it on the track 1 or 2 days a year it is more important to me to get something that is easier to live with on a day to day basis. It brings it closer to the Subaru in this respect.

OK so performance isn't as hot as the original, but we seem to have 1 GATSO per head of population where I live, and if the GATSO's don't get you then the slow moving traffic will. It is a compromise but to me its a good one. It still leaves tyre marks all over the baseball capped, Nova driving boy racers and medalion wearing Cossy drivers. I don't know if anyone else in the UK has a GTA yet but I would be interested to hear from anyone that does.
