$400 to replace spark plug wires?????
I have a 1994 T/A with a LS1 and it started missing. Checked under the hood and a spark plug wire on the right side was arcing across to a A/C metal hose.
The local mech quoted me over $400 to replace all the wires!!??!!. Said it would take about 4 hours labor and 0ver $200 for the wires. Well I found wires on the web for $80. Does it really take that long to replace these wires?- they are pretty well buried. (what ever happenned to the days you could change ign wires in about 10 minutes?) my last Car (1994 Formula) caught fire on the highway and burned to the ground a month ago. I don't like the idea of running this one with all that spark shooting around in there. any info right away would be appreciated |

Re: $400 to replace spark plug wires?????
94 with an LS1?? Was it swapped in? Or is an LT1?
Wires for an LS1 run about $55, and require about 30 minutes of squeezing your hands around under the hood. Two clicks to connect to the coil, and one click to connect to the plug. Go to www.byunspeed.com to order wires. He has Taylor or MSD. Both are good wires. Price includes shipping. Make sure you know what motor you are refering to though. In 1994, the Trans Am got an LT1, not the LS1.
