few problems with lower civic

i got a 99 civic ex coupe, just put skunk2 lowering springs on it, 2" in the back 2 1/4 in the front or something, but anyways its really rough...but it started out rough before i lowered it....should i get better springs than skunk 2? would aftermarket struts take care of it?...i also have a skuink 2 adjustable camber kit. i also took it to a shop to have it all aligned and stuff but they didnt really do anything but tighten some stuff down...am i going to a pos shop? or should i go back to tell them to realign everything?

Re: few problems with lower civic

Those springs are normally pretty tight. Stock struts can not handle 2"+ of lowering. If you want the correct strut to go with 2" of lowering your going to need Koni sports. I don't like Skunk2 springs, H&R is my choice. H&R's with some good struts will ride & handle very well.

With that much of lowering there are adjustments needed, Camber & Toe. Next time ask for a prinout of your alignment.

Re: few problems with lower civic

First thing you need to know about suspension, it aint cheap!

You can get away with Skunk2's, it's gonna be a stiff ride. If it was my car I'd throw them in the garbage.

Other struts like Tokico Illuminas or KYB AGX will work, but neither are recommend for 1.75" or more of lowering. The struts wont be as efficient and the life will be shortened.

What size tires & wheels are you using? 17's or bigger will definately make a poor ride due to the lack of tire sidewall.
