Little problem with bass control.

Just got a new system.

Pioneer DEH P80MP HU
Pioneer TS-A 6.5" 3-way front
Alpine Type S 6.5" 2-way rear

the problem is the bass overpowers the treble. I like bass, but I also like to be able to hear the lyrics pretty well.

Was playing around with the HU equalizer settings but can't seem to find a good balance. Suggestions? Anyone have a similiar setup? What'd you do?

Re: Little problem with bass control.

I actually used bass blockers in my back speakers when I had them in. Eventually I got rid of the rear speakers all together.

Bass blockers are little inline capacitors that block a frequencies lower than whatever you specify. They are like .99 at Radio Shack. Just ask a stereo shop guy what he recommends you cut the frequency off at then go to Radio Shack and buy that one.

You could get a small 4 channel amp with a built in crossover. this will help you separate the highs and lows better. I guess the radio shack option would work too but i never tried it so i dont know.
