Engine cleaning

Hello again. Ok so i decided to clean up my engine bay. I wanna start cleaning my valve cover because its getting really dirty. What cleaners would any of you guys suggest to clean it. I heard scrubbing bubbles was a good cleaner but i just wanted your guys' input.

Re: Engine cleaning

i like to use simple green. Just plastic bag all of the electronics real tight so water doesn't leak into them. Spray some simple green on all over the engine, do any necessary scrubbing and then hose it down and it'll look nice and pretty.

If you have the means, get that thing steam cleaned.

Re: Engine cleaning

Yea I'v said it many times. Steam clean. Walmart just had a sale last week as a matter of fact on the steam cleaner for 30 bucks. I did my engine the other day. It works so good you wont be dissapointed.

I use the the concentrated simple geeen make sure to wear gloves.
buy the big bottle of the concentrated stuff, stuff as much into a spray bottle & go to town make sure to cover the dizzy & some of the sensitive stuff.
If you have a pressure washer, do the bottom end & the side's, go for it.

Make sure the engine is warm to touch then squirt that concentrated stuff all over it, u can also do the wheel wells this will losen up everything. Give it 5 minuts then wash her down make sure to cover your fenders & windshield cause this stuff is not cool on them.

I followed these insturctions from the crx pages & it works my 88crx Si looks only 5 years old with this method.

Use common sense when cleaning with this stuff.
You wont beleive how expensive lack of common sense can be.
