98' Jetta Alarm - Need Urgent Help
My wife drives a 98 Jetta GLS. For the second time in as many weeks today, the alarm engauged with her inside and she was unable to start it or open the door without the alarm going off. I tried unlocking it with the key and locking it and neither worked, so the car is sitting at her work right now. Any tips on how to get the alarm to turn off? I don't want to have it towed again (how embarassing).

alarm trouble
I have a 1998 Jetta which had a similair problem. Alrarm would sound when I went over bumps at first, then at random. Eventually I did have to have it towed because I couldn't get it started and couldn't get it unlocked after that. The dealership had to replace the wiring harnesses in the front doors, as those apparently corrode and break fairly regularly.
