Cold Air Intake

I was thinking about adding some parts for my car to improve hp and i have asked some of my friends, they say cold air intake is good easy part to install that will improve horsepower by 10-15. I was looking around on different websites and i noticed that some brands offer cold air intakes for very cheap like these ones on ebay http://motors.search.ebay.com/Eclips...fclZ3QQfromZR2.
Ive also noticed that althought i can buy one on ebay for about 30 dollers i can buy other kinds like "AEM cold air intake" for $250. Whats the difference between the 2, is the AEM way better or is it just like a popular brand name for performance parts. Does anyone have some advice on what are some good parts to improve car speed. Also what is the best way to go on the cold air intake situation.

Thanks.

Re: Cold Air Intake

first thing- you get what you pay for. that $30 probably wont fit right and/or give you some other trouble.
second- dont get your hopes up. the difference is minimal.
third- there are other things that would better suit you. consider other things- better tires, suspension, brakes, etc..
fourth- try looking these kinds of questions up....they have been asked before

Relax guys i know theres a search button, no one else is posting so would you rather there be no topics. No one is forcing you to click on my thread, if you see a familiar topic, dont click it perhaps?

Re: Cold Air Intake

there is a search button for a reason. this topic has been talked about 100 times. doing a quick search will answer every question you asked and probably ones that you havent asked yet.

just incase you havent noticed, there are only like 4 people who know what they are talking about that post in this forum. youre looking at 3 of them. most of the rest are just kids who watched F&F or 2F2F and think they know everything.

and tell your friends that your eclipse is not a civic. you wont get more than 7hp from an intake. and thats on a good day
