93 cutlass high idle

Ok ,Ill try this again.I posted this once, and it never showed up.I dont know where it went to.Anyway ,my son has a 93 cutlass 3.1 .He said coming home from school the idle went way up on him.So when I got home I checked the throttle body .The linkage wasnt up against the idle screw .I could force it down but it wouldnt stay .So we let it cool down ,and started again ,and it was fine.any ideas? Thanks for the help

I would look at the Idle Air Control valve, and the Throttle position sensor, both are on the throttle body and might need to be cleaned.
