direct injection questions.

so im doing A report on direct injection. what with the first production direct injection system being put in an audi i was just trying to gather some feedback as i really dont have access to any direct injection cars. how does it compare to other types of injection? is it smoother? are there any fallbacks to having direct injection? are they easy to work with? how does the powerband feel? do they take bettter to forced induction? etc. any help is welcomed and appreciated.
