getting raped by ford

i recently took my 2004 crown vic sport into this local ford dealership to get these two problems fixed. the first is that it seems as though there is oil seeping around the crankshaft pulley which points directly to a crankshaft pulley seal needing to be replaced. the second is this whirring noise coming from the front of the engine which can only be heard when it is at a calm and steady idle. today i got a call from the ford dealer around 8 am asking me what noise i was talking about. he was telling me there was no unusual noise and that there is no oil leak.... yea well these mother fuckers see it fit that they dont need to waste their precious time or money on a car under warranty seeing as how they cant completely shaft some poor dumbass because he wont be paying for the repairs. any way i dont know who to turn to and i dont know what to do. the other ford dealers in northern va are worse than these shitbags. the place is kip killmans tysons ford in northern virginia. what do you guys think i should do ?

If you are going to a different dealer, try dealing with them in a calm, courteous, professional manner. Don't walk in the door making demands. You will catch a lot more flys with honey than vinegar. If you walk in with a chip on your shoulder, they will suddenly become very busy. Put yourself in their shoes and think of how you would react if someone you had never seen before walked in off the street and said "I'm not leaving till you fix my shit". I would show you the door so fast your head would spin. If you walk in and calmly explain your situation, and offer to show the tech your concerns, and work with them they will more than likely work with you. Never, ever, raise your voice in service situations. There are better (and more effective) ways to communicate your dissatisfaction. Just some thoughts...

it sounds as if he went up there calmly, and they haven't fixed it. He has a Ford he has a Warranty he has a problem. So he is entitled to a mechanic fixing his problem. He is a Ford customer. He has a Ford Warranty. He gets a ford Job. If you were from here as he is you would kno how to talk to these ppl. They dont give a fuck. If he goes in soft they think o lets just turn him down. if he demands his work. They think lets fix this before it becomes a big problem and ppl stop coming to this particular dealer b/c they dont car about their customers.

when i brought my car in i tried to be as nice and helpful as possible and the guy who was talking to me treated me like i had no idea what was wrong with my car. the mechanic there sure was a nice guy on the phone but i wont make any judgement on his character. i just wish they werent so lazy about stuff when they arent getting paid for it and have to give me parts for free because its under warranty. i would have gladly paid them if they just did the job right. another thing that really pissed me off was how they lied to my face about having rentals. i went to their online site at www.tysonsford.com and it clearly showed that they do have FORD RENTALS not enterprise rental cars like they told me but ford rentals i should have gotten when they had my car in the shop sitting out there for a week. its disgusting because they returned it to me in such shitty condition. the weekend before i dropped the car off to them i had washed, cleaned, polished, and waxed the car and when i got my car back they didnt even have the god damn courtesy to wash all the pollen and shit off of it. it looked like it was out in the middle of some forest for a month. any way im done with that whole business im sorry if i seem like a douche but i just dont like the fact that they treat you like shit when you have to depend on them to take care of your car. i mean people at that dealership seemed pretty nice but i just dont know what to make of the guys the customers had to deal with. i treated the service rep with respect and the manager with respect in fact i never disrespected any one there. i came in quietly one night dropped off my car and left. i didnt bother them by calling or any thing but that following monday after i dropped it off friday evening i got woken up by the service rep telling me he sees absolutely no problem and i need to come there and get my car out now. i guess some people would have flipped out on him but i treated him with respect. what really pissed me off was when i couldnt get to work because of no rental car though... even then i didnt take it out on any of them.

Re: getting raped by ford

warranties are supposed to help fix your car which unfortunately they take a lotta effort, but lawyers in situations like this are god sends.

i dont know to be honest i mean its not the mechanics fault i guess they seem so swamped. they seem like genuinely good guys but i wish there were more of them so one guy wouldnt have like 5 jobs a day to get through. yes and next time something like this happens im talking to the guy in charge of those grease monkeys to get me a rental car for free while my warranty vehicle's busted ass is getting fixed.

I have found calling the help line or talking to the district service rep does wonders, in dealing with dealers. I too had a brand new Ford CVPI, and the rear springs were bad ( car was from a fleet dealer and it sat for 1 year). The dealer said 6-8 weeks for new springs. I informed him that the car was unsafe to drive, it didn't matter to him. So I then called the area service rep in Tarrytown New york, which was the closest. He informed me that those springs were in stock, and shouldn't take more than 1 day. I asked him to call the dealer, and have them call me. Within 10 minuits, the dealer called back, and said bring the car in the next day and it would be done that day. You just have to know how to get to the right person. BTW I never went to that dealer again for any reason. About a year later it was gone.

Re: getting raped by ford

yea so when your car is in there they will fuck it up cause they're pissed at you. I know how dealerships work man i know people that used to work in them and have had a few managers fired. U wouldn't believe what they do to your car for a few extra bucks.

Sure like they are going to want to do more damage that they will have to pay for. I think not. Once you contact the area service rep, he has to respond to detroit, and explain why a dealer didn't do the right thing. It has worked for me a few times, so I don't worry about it. Anyway where is the dealer you worked for so I can stay away from it.

"Sure like they are going to want to do more damage that they will have to pay for. I think not." Yea they will here in maryland there are a few dealerships that are known for doing shit like that. Or another common thing is that they rag the fuck out of a clutch before they sell the car so that when you come back and say i need a new clutch they say well our warranty doesnt cover wearable parts. Don't argue with me about this shit, i know what im talking about. Also I've tried to contact the GM area service rep numerous times about their shitty cars and they keep ignoring me. Dealerships are out to make money THATS ALL they dont give a fuck about you and your problems. The sooner you realize that the better you will end up.
