programming remote keyless entry keyfob

How can I or where can I find instructions for programming the keyfob for a 2003 Envoy. Lost one, bought a gmc ...0009 #2 over the web, but no programming instructions.

The instructions are in the Factory Service Manual page 8-744. I'm assuming you don't have one so here are the instructions:

1. Close all the vehicle doors.

2. Insert the ignition key in the ignition lock cylinder.

3. Press and hold the door unlock switch.

4. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.

5. Release the door unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode.

6. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.

7. Repeat the previous step to program up to 4 transmitters.

8. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (NOT START) position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter mode.

9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.


I can't stress strongly enough that you read and understand these instructions thoroughly BEFORE doing anything, and follow the instructions precisely. Once you go through the programming sequence for the first transmitter, even your old transmitter that now works will not work until it is re-programmed. And finally, note that step 6 is all that is needed to program your second transmitter as long as you are already in the programming mode.

It work for me after a trying about ten times then giving up. I drove it for about 30 minutes, pulled in the driveway and it worked on the first try. Thanks
