Lightbulb cheap intake plus ceramic paint = cheap good intake ?

i was wondering if i sprayed about 3 coats of ceramic paint in and out side a cheap intake would i notice any or slight performance increase ? does it really matter what kind of filter you use ? :flash:

im sure it would help with a little hp because your actually keeping the intake cooler. Is it a short ram? Im sure it doesnt matter what filter you use.

As for filters it doesn't really matter, I have a generic cone and it's still clean and working good, K&N just perform better in the long run. The whole idea behind ceramic coating is to resist heat, so the padded heat reflective tape used for heating/air condition will also work. If its a short ram try to make a heat shield. Mine starts at the "bottom" and comes with in a 1/4 of the hood, completely blocking off the rest of the engine bay. I used sheet metal to construct it and heat reflective tape on the engine side of the wall. Also have piping coming right up to the filter where the resonator used to be.

it might reduce the temp inside the tube by a few degrees, but i doubt it will be enough to where you will notice a difference.

Agreed. You won't notice any difference because of it.

Ceramic paint is only intended to resist heat for the purpose of preserving the paint, there won't be any cooling benefit to whatever you're spraying it on. It won't give you the same benefit of an actual ceramic coated pipe.
