2003 SE Idling High
Last year,2004, I tool the van to the dealer for idling aroung 1900 RPM while vehile was in park( no check engine light). THis occurred after about 15 minutes of driving. The dealer replace the idler control valve and the van ran fine until about 2 weeks ago.
The previous week I noticed the van was dling at 1300 RPM after a 20 minute drive. After about 20 minutes of drivning this morning the van was idling at 1900 RPM when I place the vehicle in park. This is the same scenarior at the year prior, the ilde will increase each day. Has anyone had a siimilar problem? |

Re: 2003 SE Idling High
The Idle Air Control valve (IAC) may have gone bad again....The most common cause of idle problems as it controls the air (and thus the idle) whenever your foot is off the accelerator.
You could try removing it and spraying a small amount of "Sea Foam" into it. The other possible cause would be the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)...which is mounted on the side of the throttle body. As the name indicates, it senses the position of the throttle.....as in the position of the accelerator...... Oh.....most likely not your problem....but I have had the accelerator pedal catch on the floor mat....... |
