Towing

I have a 94 Transport SE with the 3800 engine with 150,000 miles is perfect shape, it is possible to tow with it. I have a 8x12 cargo trailer and need to tow it for short distances.

If you like your transmission, just do not use the OD position for towing. Limiting it to 3rd gear (D) saves torque on the TCC which is the critical torque sensitive element. this also saves torquing the overdrive gear train because 3rd gear is 1:1 direct drive to the differential .
