Suspension

Well its time for new suspension for the 68. I just looked today and both springs are broke so i figured I'd replace everything. What do yall suggest? I dont have tons of money at the moment either.

Re: Suspension

Let me know what you're wanting, what you have to spend and what all you need to replace. I've been doing alot of suspension research on first gens so i might be able to help out.

Re: Suspension

68 camaro doesn't have struts...Do you want to lower it at all or leave it factory? I'd say hotchkis has some pretty nice entry level suspension as does global west. For the shocks i'd look and see if koni has something or i've heard good things about the edelbrocks.

Re: Suspension

how old are the springs in it? It might already sit kinda low, if you put springs in it and it's a little high give it a week or two to settle and if it's still to high you can trim them slightly (not more than 1/4 coil at a time!). I'd look through natinal parts depot or year one they have factory springs if you want them.

Re: Suspension

no not in half. springs either break where they seat in the upper or lower part. mostly the lower part. it happens all the time. by far the most it happens is on ford sedans but i see my fair share of other cars with broken springs come in every day. its nothing unusual.
