battery replacement

My daughter has a 2000 chrysler concord that needs a battery. Someone told her the front wheel had to be removed to to this. Is this correct? If so is it very complicated?
Thanks in advance

Sorry, Thats pretty much how its done. The other way is to remove the air cleaner assembly and disconnect the terminals from there and with sone percistance, it will come out. You should try replacing the front headlights on that thing. You have to roll the front bumper to get to the things. Got to love that.

Re: battery replacement

you don't have to take the front tire off, you can just turn your wheel hard to the right, remove the plastic grill inside the fenderwell, and you can slide the battery out from there, once you have removed the air filter housing from up top; that's how I do it all the time on Chrysler LH sedans from 1998-2004.

Re: battery replacement

to each his own, if you look in your owner's manual, it'll even say that the tire doesn't have to come off, but again whatever floats your boat, cool.

Angry Re: battery replacement

I am having the same problem. How is the air filter housing removed? Looking at the housing from the front of the car, I can't get the part on the right that appears to hold the housing in place to release.
