I will get the title to my new 1974 Datsun 260Z, and the little car is pretty rough looking. I am going to be honest when I say that I am not a machanic in any way, but I am willing to learn. I also have a bunch of people who are real life BMW/MINI techs that have said they will come over and help me when I need it. HaHaHa I will believe that when I see it! OK now to my question, where is the best place to get parts for this car. Now I am not just talking price, I am talking quality. When I have it home I will take pics, and post them.
Thanks, Faron |

it has just about every OEM part for your car imagineable and alot of aftermarket too. i will contact a guy i talk to alot that has a 280ZXT and see if he knows of any real good performance part places for the early Datsun's. good luck man, im anxious to see some pics. and it sounds like this will be a good learning experience. especially messing with carburators and such. it will teach you alot about what goes into making a motor run and not just shoving a new chip in a computer and gaining a few HP.

Also register with zcar.com and classiczcars.com; along with this site they are great for information and advice - no offence to your beamer friends, but from first-hand knowledge of having owned a BMW, these engines are barely similar. And the most important thing you will need will be a Factory Service Manual specific for your year and type of car - courtesyparts.com has them on CD, well worth the price since you can keep printing out the same pages that you will no doubt get coated in grease. Good luck with your new old car! |

I think it's just nice to see someone talking about quality over price. There are so many posts on here From Stephemp about spooling up 30psi boost and blowing out bearings just so he can get to the corner 7-11 faster before a piston shoots through the hood from all the unreliable mods while he hits 130mph leaving his driveway on a left hand turn, I tend to lose faith in whether or not anyone still cares about their engine anymore.
